Step 1:
In this guide on how to draw a bee, we’ll start with your bee’s head. To start, you need to start with a circle. Sometimes when a circle is needed for a drawing, I recommend using a drawing compass for a perfect circle, but the circle doesn’t need to be perfect. It would help if you made this circle freehand for a personal touch.
Step 2:
Now that we have the drawing of your bee’s head, we’ll start with your bee’s wings. In this step, we will add two of the wings. These wings will have a long rounded shape, the other protruding from the other wing closer to our view. Once these wings are drawn, you can move on to the next step.
Step 3:
For this step of our guide on how to draw a bee, the first thing you need to do is draw one more wing behind the others. Once the last wing is drawn, you can use a rounded line to create the bee’s body.
Step 4:
Your bee has wings and a body, so it needs a face and more details! To start, let’s draw some eyes for your bee design. The eyes consist of two long oval shapes with more ovals inside to form large eyes. Once you have the eyes, you can use curved lines to create a smiling mouth and add two antennae to the head. For the last part of this step, you can add two straight lines at the back to form a stinger for your bee.
Step 5:
Your bee drawing is starting to look great! For these next steps, we’ll add some final details. For this step, we will first add some stripes for your bee. Every bee needs stripes, so we need them for your drawing! These thin lines will run the full width of the bee’s body. You can use long, rounded shapes on your bee’s belly to make legs. Once you’ve added those tabs and stripes, you can move on to the final details!
Step 6:
You’ve almost finished your bee drawing! Before moving on to the colouring stage, we will add a few final details. First, you can add some thin lines to your bee’s wings. These will form the veins of your bee’s wings. The final details are where you can get creative with! We’ve shown a few that you can add, like little hairs sticking out of the bee and lines to show movement around the wings, but you need to add details that you think would look good! Now that your bee is drawn and you’ve added the final details, the last step is to have some fun with the colours!
